Volunteer Vikings List of Needs

Volunteer Vikings List of Needs

This Thursday our 7th and 8th Grade students will be donating their time to many charitable organizations in our community.  To help them in their off-site day of service, grades JK-6 are asked to bring in items for these worthy organizations.

Please make every effort to have the item in by this WEDNESDAY, January 28 so that the older students can bring the items with them.

A cash collection is also being taken near the front office for a new vacuum for  Christ Child House.

Jr. K – K – Glue sticks and Healthy, nut-free Snacks (individually wrapped fruit snacks, crackers, etc.)

Donations will help Holy Redeemer School. Students will be visiting our sister school and working in various classrooms assisting students and their teachers. Last year we found this to be extremely rewarding for both schools.

1st Grade – Wipes and Healthy, nut-free Snacks (individually wrapped fruit snacks, crackers, etc.)

Donations will help Christ Child and Holy Redeemer. Students will be traveling to Holy Redeemer to work in the classrooms. At Christ Child students will clean floors, shovel snow, move items, touch up paint, and vacuum.

2nd Grade – Hand sanitizer and Healthy, nut-free Snacks (individually wrapped fruit snacks, crackers, etc.)

Donations will help Christ Child/Holy Redeemer. Students will be traveling to Holy Redeemer to work in the classrooms. At Christ Child students will clean floors, shovel snow, move items, touch up paint, and vacuum.

3rd Grade – Toiletries (shampoo, soap, lotion, toothpaste, deodorant)

New/packaged socks and underwear (sizes child-adult)

Donations will help Ladies of Charity. Students will be working right next door at our own Ladies of Charity location sorting, hanging clothes, moving items, and light cleaning.

4th Grade – Toiletries (shampoo, soap, lotion, toothpaste, deodorant),

New/packaged socks and underwear (sizes child-adult)

Grade 5- Toiletries (shampoo, soap, lotion, tooth paste, deodorant)

Canned goods (soup, vegetables, beans, potatoes, canned fruit)

Donations will help Ladies of Charity and Gleaners Food Bank. Students will be working at both locations sorting items, checking food labels for expiration dates, packing boxes, and moving items.

Grade 6 – Care packages for soldiers

Donations will help the C.A.S. H. program. This is a combat surgical hospital in Kuwait that is directly providing care and support to our soldiers, specifically those from Fort Bliss, Texas.

Grade 7 and 8 – Canned goods, Mac & Cheese, jelly, cereal, and individually packaged pre-chopped ingredients for meals to be prepared at Angel’s Place locations.

Note: Only those students traveling to Angel’s Place will be bringing in the pre-chopped ingredients.

Donations will benefit Angels’ Place, Lighthouse, and Gleaners Food Banks.

Again, any student/parent/family wishing to make a monetary donation on behalf of any of these groups may do so as well.

Finally, there is one other way we can all serve others, especially in this winter season. Ladies of Charity is in great need of gently used winter coats. Large sizes are desperately needed, but all coat donations are very helpful and appreciated.

Thank you very much for your participation.
