Seizure and Stop the Bleed Training: Thank you to Mrs. Ferrera who provided our staff with seizure training at our last staff meeting. We were able to go over the different types of seizures, and how best to treat them.
Thank you as well to Dr. Vaupel and Mrs. Nittis, who provided Stop the Bleed training to the entire staff. We learned how best to treat wounds and how to use tourniquets when treating a significant injury. All staff members received certificates for passing the course. We are grateful the generosity of our talented parents!
CYO Sports update:
J.V. Baseball A great relay throw from Matthew St. Andre to Colin Mayette to Nathan Kalil clinched the victory for back to back wins for the J.V. baseball team this past Wednesday as the J.V. baseball team swept a doubleheader.
5th/6th Girls Softball: The 5/6th-grade girls do it again and serve up St. Lawrence with their first losses. The Lady Vikings take game 1: 8-0. Three home runs helped boost the score. Abby Hannan gets two HR; one a grand slam. Anastacia Wachowiak grabs a solo HR putting one over the fence in deep left center. Pitching kept the Mustangs scoreless with 19 Ks. Game 2 was much closer as the Mustangs pitcher got hotter. The girls saw some action in the field with great and important plays by Keira Maher, Natalie Stanczak, And Audrey Thurman helping out their pitcher, Anastacia Wachowiak, who managed to get 16 Ks. Offensively, big help from Riley Smith, Audrey Thurman for being patient at the plate. And Addison Smidt, stayed patient to get the winning RBI. Good luck to the baseball, softball and lacrosse teams!
Eighth-grade brunch The eighth-grade brunch was a really nice event this past Friday. The students had the opportunity to relax over some delicious food and enjoyed playing some board games with one another. Thank you to the teachers, parents, and students for all of their preparation for this annual event!
First Holy Eucharist
A very nice First Communion took place this past Saturday and Sunday for the second graders. Thank you to the second-grade teachers Mrs. Carolin, Mrs. Davis, and Mrs. Herman for their help preparing the students. I also want to thank our Faith Formation leaders Mrs. Yugovich, and Mrs. Venos for working with our teachers and catechists in preparing the students. It was a truly faith-filled weekend by a wonderful group of students!
