PRINCIPAL’S CORNER

Auction: The priority for Fr. Tony and I is to increase campus-wide safety. This year’s auctions proceeds will be spent primarily on increasing campus-wide safety. I am looking forward to seeing many of you this Saturday evening at Orchard Lake Country Club for our annual auction. I would like to thank so many of you for purchasing tickets, as there are just a few left available. We are grateful for your support. A special thank you to our acquisitions chair, Shelly Roye. You will see many of the fun items that she has procured on Saturday evening.

NAEP Testing: Last Thursday, our 8th-grade students were randomly selected to participate in national social studies and civics NEAP assessment. NAEP is the National Assessment of Educational Progress and is the largest continuing and nationally representative assessments of what our nation’s students know and can do in core subjects. NAEP is congressionally mandated and is in place to measure student’s achievement nationally. Teachers, principals, policymakers, and researchers all use the NAEP results to assess the progress of our nation’s students and use the results to develop ways to improve education in the United States. Our students did their civic duty this week by helping our county and participating in this test.

Congratulations to the boys 5th-grade basketball team on their undefeated season!

The Kindergarten Readiness students came to school in their favorite version of clothing to celebrate their 100th day of school. Students played with puzzles, play-doh, and dramatic play. They also enjoyed a special ice cream sundae. Last but not least, the students celebrated 100 positive ways to act during this Lenten Season.
