Confirmation: Confirmation went very well this past Saturday. Bishop Hurley who is a classmate in the seminary with Fr. Tony did a beautiful job presiding at the Confirmation Liturgy. It was a memorable Mass to welcome our 8th-grade students into Catholic adulthood. Thank you to Mrs. LoVasco and Mrs. Yugovich for preparing our students!
100th Day: The kindergarten students look like they are 100 years-old today but they still have that kindergarten energy level. They are having a fun 100th day of the school year!
Mr. Carolin, the husband of second-grade teacher Mrs. Penny Carolin passed away on Saturday. The viewing will take place at Desmond’s in Troy from 2-8 on Wednesday and the funeral will take place at St. Hugo at 11:00 on Thursday. Please keep the Carolin Family in your prayers. If you would like to bring your student(s) please come and sign them out in the office.
Middle School Information Night: I was extremely impressed with our former students Paul Silaghi, Yana Ebbing, Francesca Schena, Evan Wells, Angeli Fandino, Charlie Farrar, Mary Clare Sacca, Elena Schwegman Paul Silaghi, Elena Schwegman and Jacob Bruck. There is no greater assurance that St. Hugo School makes faith-filled and outstanding future students than these examples. They did an amazing job of giving thanks to St. Hugo for their current success. We are so proud of our alumni!
CYO: The basketball teams are winding down their season as they play their final games this upcoming weekend. Great job to the cheerleaders as they performed at games on Saturday. Thank you to former student Mary Ellen Blaszczak for coaching the girls! We have a couple of undefeated teams including the boys’ 5th-grade team led by Coach Henry and Coach Brzustewicz and the boys’ 6th-grade team lead by Coach Dooley and Coach Monroe. Keep up the good work Vikings and good luck in the upcoming playoffs!
Ash Wednesday Mass: Please join us for Mass at 9:00 this Wednesday. What better way to start Lent then Mass with our students?
