This year Catholic Schools Week will run from January 31-February 5.

 

2016 CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK SCHEDULE

 

Sunday, January 31st – Parish Pride

Today, we show our appreciation to our fellow parishioners for their ongoing support of our school.

  • Open House for prospective families ONLY 1:15pm-3pm.
  • In an effort to promote our school for Open House Sunday, all students are asked to attend one of the weekend masses at their local parish in their St. Hugo uniform.
  • Students who attend a mass in uniform will be allowed to wear jeans and a St. Hugo logo’d shirt (example: a St. Hugo Fun Run tee shirt, St. Hugo Field Day tee shirt, St. Hugo team jersey or St. Hugo sweatshirt) on Monday, February 1st.
  • Scout-sponsored Pancake Breakfast after 8am and 10am Masses to support the IHM Retirement Fund.

 

Monday, February 1st – Viking Pride

We celebrate all the things that make our school “Blue Ribbon.” Essay and art contest winning entries will be displayed throughout the school.

  • Students who attend one of the weekend masses at their local parish in their St. Hugo uniform will be allowed to wear jeans and a St. Hugo logo’d shirt (example: a St. Hugo Fun Run tee shirt, St. Hugo Field Day tee shirt, St. Hugo team jersey or St. Hugo sweatshirt).
  • All school afternoon assembly featuring Band and Glee performances as well as a Talent Show featuring 4th-8th

 

Tuesday, February 2nd – It Must Be Different With Us

We appreciate the strong foundation Catholic education affords us.

  • All students may add crazy hats, ties, socks, and/or slippers or may wear crazy hair (no hair dye please).
  • Valentine’s Day Candy Sale for Holy Redeemer. Candy sale will be held during lunch. All candy will be $1.00 each with profits going to Holy Redeemer.


Wednesday, February 3rd – Catholic School Pride

Today, we celebrate all Catholic Schools, and honor our sisters through the IHM        Retirement Fund.

  • All parents and friends of St. Hugo are invited to attend a special all-school Mass at 8:30am. Students wear regular uniform today.
  • A collection for IHM Retirement Fund will be taken at mass.
  • Valentine’s Day Candy Sale for Holy Redeemer during lunch continues. All candy will be $1.00 each with profits going to Holy Redeemer.
  • Special Treat Today – Ice Cream Cups at lunch

 

Thursday, February 4th – Celebrating Our Catholic School

  • PIZZA DAY!!!
  • Pizza will be served at lunch today along with a drink and fruit snacks.
  • Last day of Valentine’s Day Candy Sale for Holy Redeemer during lunch. All candy will be $1.00 each with profits going to Holy Redeemer.
  • Students wear regular uniform today.

 

Friday, February 5th – Excellence from Top to Bottom

At St. Hugo, we emphasize excellence in every facet of student life. In that spirit, all students will participate in the Volunteer Vikings Day of Service and celebrate the end of Catholic Schools Week as follows:

  • 7th and 8th graders will be traveling off-site for their role in Volunteer Vikings day of service.
  • JK-8th will be donating items to support the 7th and 8th grade school-wide service project. Important details are attached for each grade level. Each class will also be participating in a grade level service project.
  • JK-2nd – Pajama Day. Students may wear pajamas today, but remember they will be going out for recess, so don’t forget the snow pants and snow boots as well!
  • 3rd-8th – Jeans Day. Students may wear jeans with any team apparel including sports teams, colleges, or high schools.
  • Jk-6th– Movie Afternoon. Each grade will watch a movie and have a special snack.

 

Friday, February 5th– PTG Daddy/Daughter Sweetheart Dance

St. Hugo PTG Daddy/Daughter dance held in the school gym from 6:30pm-8:30pm.

It’s time for parents, teachers, staff, and friends of St. Hugo to enjoy some of the fun! Join your friends to celebrate our amazing school at our annual auction. The theme this year is “The Sky’s The Limit”.
