MARK YOUR CALENDAR!
- Wednesday, September 9 at 7:00pm is the PTG and Back to School Night for
grades K – 5 in the gym.
- Wednesday, September 9 is the first all school Mass. Please send $1 (or more!) with your child as there will be a special collection benefitting Holy Redeemer School.
- Friday, September 18 is the cutoff to order lunches for October. You can view the October menu on Orgsonline or the school website.
- Saturday, September 19 at 8:30am is Fun Run on the St. Hugo campus. Don’t miss out on this fun family event! See the attached for more information.
- Monday, September 21 is the deadline to register for winter sports. Registration forms are available on the school website. Contact Mr. Barrett with questions.
THANK YOU to all who participated in the special collection at Mass the weekend of August 29-30 which benefited the school’s Tuition Angel program. Your generous donations raised $6,832.00 and will help families in need.

ICE CREAM will be sold in the cafeteria every day and chocolate chip cookies will be sold every Wednesday.
IS YOUR CHILD INTERESTED in working with clay? Ms. Bitzinger will be offering two-day after school clay classes (from 3:40pm-5:00pm). Open to grades 1-8. Kinders may attend if an older sibling has also signed up. Cost: $45.00 per student. The dates for classes are: September 30, October 7, November 11, November 18, January 28, February 4, March 16, March 23, May 18, May 25. Your child will learn hand building techniques as they sculpt their very own unique clay project. On the second day, the student will then glaze the piece. If interested, please contact Ms. Bitzinger at firstname.lastname@example.org with your child’s name, a parent’s name and the best contact number. Students will be registered upon payment of check made to Anna Bitzinger. Students are encouraged to bring a snack to have before class begins. Parents may pick up their child from the art room. Projects will be delivered to the student upon firing in the kiln.
MEDICATION DISBURSEMENT FORMS, signed by your child’s physician must be on file in the office before we can dispense prescription or over the counter medications. The form can be downloaded from the school’s website.
CLIP THOSE BOX TOPS and help St. Hugo earn points to purchase items to enhance our school! Homeroom teachers will collect them every Friday. The grade submitting the most box tops by September 28 will win a special prize! FUN RUN is upon us! It is going to be a blast–micro run, sno cones, tattoos, hair braiding, football toss, corn hole and MORE! To guarantee a t-shirt and bag please turn in your registration by Wed, Sept. 9th. You can even bring it to Back to School Night on Wednesday and turn it in at the table in the front foyer. There will also be a Spirit Day/Fun Run t-shirt day for those who have registered before race day. THE BOTTOMLESS TOY CHEST and the Fun Run have teamed up this year and we are gearing up for an awesome toy drive. The Bottomless Toy Chest provides toys to children who have cancer. Starting the week of September 14 there will be bins outside the front office to collect toys. There will also be bins the day of the race. Following is a list of toys being requested (toys should be unused and unwrapped): nerf hoops, baby dolls (including ethnic dolls), journal and pen sets, movie theme toys like Frozen and Star Wars, remote control helicopters, action figures, and sports themed apparel.
MUSICAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS IN GRADES 3 – 8 at St. Hugo of the Hills Church. The St. Nicholas Choir (children’s choir) is made up of students in grades 3 – 8. The choir sings at the 10:00am Sunday Mass as scheduled, singing anthems alone and with the Liturgical Choir. Rehearsals are on Tuesday afternoons from 3:35pm – 4:20 pm or Sunday mornings from 11:10 am – 11:50am (your choice!) Choir runs October thru May beginning October 6.
The St. Cecilia/St. Gregory Cantor Guild (also open to St. Nicholas Choir members) is made up of students in grades 6 – 8. These singers (teams of 2 or 3) cantor as scheduled at the 10:00am or 12:00pm Sunday Mass. Their main responsibility is in providing leadership of the assembly’s song, as well as the singing of the Responsorial Psalm. Rehearsals are on Tuesday afternoons from 4:20pm – 4:45pm. The Cantor Guild runs October thru May beginning October 6.
Additionally, the Royal School of Church Music program, Voices for Life, is being offered. This is optional for all those in the St. Nicholas Choir and the St. Cecilia/St. Gregory Cantor Guild. Children can further develop their musicianship skills through this certification course. There will be a small fee. Rehearsals are Tuesday afternoons from 4:45pm – 5:00pm.
