PLEASE NOTE: Bloomfield Hills Schools will not be in session on Wednesday, September 23. St. Hugo will not have buses. Please leave a little early to allow for traffic. IT IS NEVER OK TO USE THE FRONT DRIVEWAY! ALL STUDENTS MUST GO THROUGH THE DROP OFF AREA IN THE BACK PARKING LOT TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF ALL CHILDREN.

- Thursday, September 17 and Friday, September 18 are picture day! Grades 4-8 are on Thursday. Junior kinders, kinders and grades 1-3 are on Friday. Please dress appropriately!
- Friday, September 18 is the cutoff to order lunches for October. You can view the October menu on Orgsonline or the school website.
- Saturday, September 19 at 8:30am is Fun Run on the St. Hugo campus. Don’t miss out on this fun family event! See the attached for more information.
- Monday, September 21 is the deadline to register for winter sports. Registration forms are available on the school website. Contact Mr. Barrett with questions.
- Tuesday, September 22 students may wear their Fun Run t-shirts to school.
- Wednesday, September 23 we will not have buses.
- Tuesday, October 20 we will be offering flu shots. More information will follow on how to register for this free opportunity.
READY, SET, GO!!! It’s Fun Run time and is it going to be fabulous! We have a selfie photo station, football toss, awesome prizes with Beats headphones, a hula hoop contest, and much, much more. You can still send in your registration! Check out the website for more information at www.sthugofunrun.com. We are also still looking for helpful volunteers so spread the word and sign up on Sign Up Genius. The link is easy to access from the website above. iRun4Kids FUN RUN has partnered with Bottomless Toy Chest and they are so excited and appreciative. Beginning Tuesday, September 15 there will be bins near the front office to collect new/unwrapped toys to be given to children who have cancer. Specifically, they are looking for Nerf hoops, baby dolls, journal and pen sets, movie theme toys like Star Wars and Frozen, remote control helicopters, action figures, and sports themed apparel. We will also be collecting toys the day of Fun Run. A big THANKS to all who are supporting this event!
KEEP CLIPPING THOSE BOX TOPS and help St. Hugo earn points to purchase items to enhance our school! Homeroom teachers will collect them every Friday. The grade submitting the most box tops by September 28 will win a special prize! APPLES FOR STUDENTS PROGRAM is even easier this year. No more scanning cards! When shopping at any Hollywood Market location, our St. Hugo families, friends and supporters simply tell the checkout cashier that they are supporting St. Hugo School. The points from each transaction will be credited to St. Hugo from now until the end of February. We were able to receive wonderful educational materials from this program last year. ATTENTION GIRLS IN GRADES 3-5! You are invited to join in a new after school program called “Girls on the Run”. It is a fun, interactive program that helps girls feel empowered and self-confident while teaching them how to make new friends and be a better friend. The program ends in a 5K run on November 22 and will take place on the St. Hugo campus Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3:45pm-5:00pm beginning September 22. Registration is limited to 20 girls and the cost is $126 which includes lessons, materials, snacks, gear and the entry into the celebratory 5K run. The program will be run by Mrs. Bartoli, Miss Cowper, Miss Fleischer and Miss Bartoli. For more information or to register please go to www.gotrdetroit.org. BACK TO SCHOOL AND CLEANING OUT CLOSETS? The St. Hugo Altar Guild is pleased to host our annual COAT and CLOTHING DRIVE benefiting the Ladies of Charity. Volunteers will accept donations at all St. Hugo Masses the weekend of October 3-4. Please bring all coats, clothing, shoes, boots and cold weather gear in plastic bags on your way to Mass. The Ladies of Charity are grateful for your generosity to our neighbors who are in desperate need of these items. THE ART ROOM is in need of baby wipes and helpers to wash art smocks. Please contact Ms. Anna Bitzinger at firstname.lastname@example.org if you can lend a hand. The next clay workshop will be Wednesday, September 30 and October 7th from dismissal to 5 PM. Please send a check made payable to Anna Bitzinger in the amount of $45.00. Open to Grades 1 – 8. ALANA’S FOUNDATION is a non-profit organization founded in 2009 in memory of Alana Yaksich who died of influenza in February, 2003. Alana’s Foundation will be offering free mist flu vaccines to St. Hugo students on Tuesday, October 20. Watch for more information on how to register your student.
