THANK YOU AND CONGRATULATIONS! Despite the rain the 3rd Annual Fun Run was a huge success and much fun was had by all in attendance! Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our chair people; Meghan Zidar, Lori Ervin, Suzanne Tosto, Mary Farrar, Eileen Sacca, Nicole Pawczuk, and their awesome team, Fun Run reached its goal! A big thanks to faculty, staff, sponsors, and families who participated in the event. Our efforts not only benefited St. Hugo but also our friends at the Bottomless Toy Chest! A small surplus of Fun Run t-shirts are available for sale in the front office. Youth large, adult small, adult medium and adult large shirts can be purchased for $5 each. Please forward any pictures you took at the event to Suzanne Tosto, so they can be included on the Fun Run website.



  • Tuesday, September 22 in appreciation to those that participated in Fun Run, students may wear their Fun Run t-shirts to school with jeans or appropriate shorts.
  • Wednesday, September 23 we will not have buses. Dismissal for carpool and walkers is 3:20pm. Dismissal for buses is 3:30pm.
  • Friday, September 25 is the deadline to bring toys in to support the Bottomless Toy Chest.
  • September 30 is the extended deadline to register for winter sports. Registration forms are available on the school website. Contact Mr. Barrett with questions.
  • Thursday, October 1 The Sky’s the Limit 2016 Auction kick-off party. See the attached flyer.
  • Tuesday, October 20 we will be offering flu shots. More information will follow on how to register for this free opportunity.

  • Friday, November 13 is St. Hugo’s Red Wings Night.
  • Saturday, November 14 is St. Hugo’s Mom to Mom Sale.


STUDENT COUNCIL, CLASS OF 2016. Almost half of the class ran for various positions which is a remarkable display of how involved this group wants to be in the leadership and success of their final year at St. Hugo. We are proud that so many candidates explored the opportunity to run for office and serve their classmates. GIRLS ON THE RUN is a new after school program for girls in grades 3-5. It is a fun, interactive program coached by Miss Cowper, Miss Bartoli and Miss Fleischer that helps girls feel empowered and self-confident while teaching them how to make new friends and be a better friend.   1. HUGO PROUD! Congratulations to Hugh Flynn and his family. Hugh has been named a National Merit Semi-finalist. A 2012 graduate of St. Hugo, Hugh is a senior at Brother Rice High School.

IMPORTANT PARKING LOT REMINDER: When dropping off your student in the morning please pull as far forward as possible. This helps keep traffic flowing and prevents back-ups on Opdyke Road.

SHOW YOUR LOVE AND SUPPORT to the Zwolinski family by providing a meal. Long-time St. Hugo parent Peggy Zwolinski has been battling cancer for the past three years. Their daughter Rebecca graduated from St. Hugo three years ago and Melissa is a current fourth grade student. Peggy’s mother has been living with the family to help care for them and was recently diagnosed with cancer herself. Please consider logging on to, search by name – Zwolinski, the password is Peggy. BACK TO SCHOOL AND CLEANING OUT CLOSETS? The St. Hugo Altar Guild is pleased to host our annual Coat and Clothing Drive benefiting the Ladies of Charity. Volunteers will accept donations at all St. Hugo Masses the weekend of October 3-4. Please bring all coats, clothing, shoes, boots and cold weather gear in plastic bags on your way to Mass. The Ladies of Charity are grateful for your generosity to our neighbors who are in desperate need of these items. CUB SCOUTS ANYONE? You are invited to attend the Join Scouting Night on Wednesday, September 30th, 6:30pm – 7:30pm in the Fr. Esper Room. ATTENTION 8TH GRADERS! The fall session of the High School placement Test Prep Course will begin on Tuesday, September 29. The 12 day course runs from Tuesday-Friday for three weeks starting September 29 and ending Friday, October 16. There are still just a few seats available. Contact Mrs. Kurn to register.

THANK YOU BUS FAMILIES for being so patient with the bus issues we have been experiencing. Bloomfield Hills Transportation Department continues to monitor the timing of all routes and are actively making changes to improve their service.


BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND is Red Wings Family Night! Game night is Friday, November 13 at 7:30pm vs San Jose Sharks. This year St. Hugo has been allotted 200 tickets. Complete your order form and return it with your check made payable to St. Hugo PTG (put “Red Wing Night” on the memo line) as soon as possible. Orders will be processed on a first come, first served basis. Any orders received after our allotment has been exhausted will go on a wait list as the Red Wings may release extra tickets.
