PLEASE NOTE:  The deadline to register for fall sports has been changed to Thursday, May 26 –no exceptions!  Information will be sent to CYO on Friday.  At this time we do not have enough students registered to field ANY fall team.  If we do not get more registrations we will have to cancel fall sports.

PARENTS OF 8TH GRADE STUDENTS:  A supplemental Algebra I class will be offered by Mrs. Carol Leahy again this summer.  The purpose of this class is to provide our eighth grade graduates an exposure to the remaining concepts of Algebra I (Solving Quadratic and Radical Equations).  The class will begin on Monday, June 13, and continue on weekdays through Tuesday, June 21 from 9:30am until 12:00pm.  For further information and for the registration form, please refer to the letter sent to parents of 8th grade students via Power School.  If you have questions, please contact Carol Leahy by phone (248) 642-6131 or by email


ATTENTION LATCH KEY FAMILIES:  Bills were sent home last week.  ALL balances in Latch Key must be paid by Friday, June 3, 2016.  There will not be Latch Key after school on Thursday, June 9 (morning Latch Key only).


A VARIETY OF SCHOOL DESKS (K-8) are available for $10 each.  Contact the front office to reserve.  The desks will be available for pick up on Tuesday, June 7 at the Spring Book Sale.


THE LAST ST. HUGO SCRIP order of the school year is due Tuesday, May 31 by 10:00am.  It will be ready for pickup at the school office the afternoon of Monday, June 6.  Don’t forget gift cards for end of the school year gifts and for Dennis Uniforms to be purchased over the summer.  Parent participation has resulted in $4,215.49 for the school and student tuition credit this school year – thank you to all who participated!  Order online at  Contact Beth Nunning,, with any questions.


TARGETS TAKE CHARGE OF EDUCATION PROGRAM ended on May 14, 2016.  We thank all those that participated in the program.

OUR SPRING BOOK SALE will be held on Tuesday, June 7 in the gym from 8:00am-11:00am.  Student in grades 5-8 will have their hard cover books reviewed and approved by their teachers to sell.  Students that will be entering grades 5-8 in the fall will have the opportunity to purchase hard cover books and used uniforms.  Books not available at the spring book sale can be purchased at Orientation on August 25 along with gym uniforms and other school supplies.


WE CAN DO IT!  In 2009, St. Hugo of the Hills was recognized as a Michigan Green School.  As part of our effort to be “green” and maintain our Evergreen status the 1st graders are raising money to adopt an animal at the Detroit Zoo.  To help us get there we are asking the students to bring in clean, returnable bottles and cans on Tuesday, May 24 and Wednesday, May 25.  Thank you for helping with this project.

8TH GRADE PARENTS who’s youngest is graduating from St. Hugo will be honored at the Wednesday, May 25 Mass.  A small reception following Mass will be held in the Gathering Space.


THE LAST ALL SCHOOL MASS for the 2015-2016 school year is Thursday, June 9 at 8:30am.  The 5th grade choir will be singing.


WANTED:  FIELD DAY VOLUNTEERS!  We are excited for the 2016 St. Hugo School Field Day, which will take place Wednesday, June 8.  Please go to to view the available volunteer opportunities.  The day is only made possible with the teamwork of our parents and teachers who will help to create fantastic memories for our students.
