SAFETY! SAFETY! SAFETY! Please do not drop your student off on Hickory Grove Road. The Hickory Grove Road entrance does not open until 8:30am.

PLEASE JOIN US at the all school mass on Wednesday, May 24. We will be celebrating mass with our 8th graders for the last time, honoring the parents who’s youngest is graduating, and Sister Margaret for her 51 years of service to St. Hugo. A light reception will follow mass. The PTG is planning a Parish-wide celebration in the fall to celebrate and honor Sister Margaret.

REGISTRATION FOR FALL CYO SPORTS is now underway. Please note the deadline of May 26. If you have any questions regarding the registration process, please contact Mr. Tom Barrett, Athletic Director.

THE ART DEPARTMENT would like to extend a heARTful thank you to Mrs. Becker for washing several loads of smocks.

USED UNIFORM SALE will be held on Wednesday, June 7 from 8:00am-9:00am outside the front office. Please bring your clean, gently used uniform skirts, jumpers, sweaters and fleece jackets to the office on Tuesday, June 6 (no early drop offs). Proceeds from the sale of gently used uniforms will be donated to the Tuition Angels fund. We will be accepting blouses, boy’s shirts (or button down) or boy’s pants. Any uniforms not sold will be donated to a school in Pontiac. We will NOT be accepting gym uniforms (including sweat pants/sweat shirts) or boy’s polo shirts.

ATTENTION CURRENT 7TH GRADE STUDENTS: We will be offering a summer session of the High School Placement Test Prep Course from Monday, June 12 through Tuesday, June 20. This course runs from 8:00 am -10:00 am and covers 12 hours of high school placement test strategies and a practice test. By taking the course in the summer, students have the advantage of using this information to study at a relaxed pace without classes, homework or other school activities competing for their time. As a bonus, summer students may attend the fall class at no charge. Tuition Fee is $225.00. Registration form is attached.

ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT UPDATE: As of this morning we have the following numbers for fall sports:

V football – 5, JV football – 4, V boys soccer – 1, V girls soccer – 4, JV volleyball – 0, V volleyball – 4, JV girls soccer -7 (5th) 3 (6th), JV boys soccer – 1 (5th) 8 (6th). We still do not enough for a full team for any sport.

MRS. BRAET IS LOOKING FOR GENTLY used children’s board games and or card games for the library. These games will be used as part of the end of the year library activities as well as future activities and centers in the library. If you would like to donate board games to the library please send them in to Mrs. Braet.

Great job to Mr. Pacifico and the Cast and Crew of Alice in Wonderland! I was amazed at their improvement from their trial run to the actual shows. The students truly stepped up when the bright lights went on. The baseball team had a great season but came up just short in their first playoff game. They defeated Shrine in back to back games to qualify for the playoffs. Excellent job to Mr. Barrett and his team. Congrats to Josie Bloom, Tatum Casper and Bianca Giglio as their volleyball team won the state championship!

A reminder that at the conclusion of the school year, students of all grades should turn in their books. There will not be a book sale next year. All of the student books will be on their desk the first day of school. Teachers will take their class list and check off all of the students that have turned in all of their books. Students that turn in all their books will receive $100 off tuition for next school year.

Mark your calendar for Field Day Tuesday, June 6. In the next Parent Bulletin a Sign-up Genius will be going out. We can use all of the parent help that we can get. Please reserve this date to help if you can!
