CONGRATULATIONS TO last week’s T.R.A.C.K. winner Own Zidar! Owen was observed by Mrs. Merricle in the cafeteria picking up cones that had tipped over. Keep up the good work, Owen!

SAVE THE DATE! Current and prospective students and parents are invited to join the Middle School teachers, St. Hugo alums, and St. Hugo alum parents on TUESDAY, MARCH 28 from 7:00pm-8:00pm in D5 for a St. Hugo Middle School Preview Night. Brief presentations from teachers will cover academic expectations and student and parent alum presentations will include how St. Hugo prepared students for high school.

HELP WANTED! Grade 6 is in need of empty, clean milk cardboard cartons 1.75L size for our STEAM activity. Please send them to D3.

TIME FOR SPRING CLEANING! Get rid of those dusty old computers! Computer recycling will take place on Friday and Saturday, March 31 and April 1 from 3:00pm-5:00pm and on Sunday, April 2 from 8:00am- 12:00pm. Please drop off your computers, printers, and other electronic equipment for recycling in the boxes stationed inside the St. Hugo Maintenance Garage, located between Ladies of Charity and the carport, behind the church. NO CRT monitors or TVs are accepted due to the mercury gas in them. Wooden speakers are also not accepted. Thanks for helping make us a “green school”!

PRINCIPAL’S CORNER

Auction – The auction was a great time this past Saturday evening! Thank you to Suzanne Tosto, Kristen Bujoll, Nicole Pawczuk, Gina Rook and the rest of their committee. This event was truly a fun first class evening. I am grateful as well to all of our sponsors and attendees. It is your support that allows our school to have so many wonderful programs and this event also helps maintain an outstanding facility. St. Hugo of the Hills Community shined on Saturday evening!

Tomorrow – We have a very busy day tomorrow. The first STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) Day take place all day tomorrow. Thank you to Mrs. Mueller for all of her work in making this day happen. Congrats to Anya Keena and Grace VanNorwick on winning the first STEAM Day art contest. Tomorrow evening at 7:00 is our first Middle School Information Night. We believe we have an outstanding middle school. Come out tomorrow night and find out why we believe this.

Art Grant Winner – Congratulations to Keely Nykerk on winning the MEEMIC FOUNDATION Meemic Masterpieces Art Contest and Grant. The Ploskonka Agency has the honor of presenting St. Hugo of the Hills School with Meemic GRANT and Keely an Amazon Fire HD Tablet this Wednesday. Great job Keely and the support of her art teacher Ms. Bitzinger!

Battle of the Books – The 4th grade team the RKO Readers will battle the 5th grade team the Rubber Duckz. Fourth grade team members include: Brenden Bieth, Patrick Jazrawi, Matthew Krzeszewski, and William Mervenne will battle the 5th grade team members including: Joseph Joulakh, Jacob Dallo, Ryan Wells, and Sam Karrick. Mrs. Braet has done an excellent job and it should be fun conclusion to March is Reading Month!
