SAVE THE DATE! Parenting with Love & Logic workshop will be coming to St. Hugo in February/March. This six week program will provide you with simple and practical techniques that will make you more effective at raising your children and will provide you with tools to effectively handle challenging behaviors for children of any age. > All in for St. Hugo Pets: NEW this year – plan and execute an in-school photo showcase of St. Hugo families pets. Also to be in the keepsake book
> Volunteers: Organize all volunteers for committees and for the night of the event
> Live Auction/paddle raise: plan and execute entire process including securing the auctioneer, stage set up, etc.

BBFA PRESENTS: Youth Anxiety & Depression on January 12 at 10:00am at the Booth/Doyle Center (7275 Wing Lake Road, Bloomfield Hills). Pamela Minelli will present the signs and symptoms for youth anxiety and depression as well as how symptoms present differently than they do in adults. This is a free presentation and pre-registration is not required. BBFA’s book club will be meeting on January 26 at 10:00am at the Bloomfield Township Library. The book club is reading Mindset: The New Psychology of Success by Carol Dwek. This event is free but pre-registration is required as space is very limited. And finally, BBFA presents What’s With the Boys? On February 9 at 10:00am. Led by Ted Braude, learn how to guide your quiet, withdrawn son through the challenges of social media, risk taking and making good choices, following directions, and much more. This is also a free event and pre-registration is not required. The program will be held at the Booth/Doyle Center.

> First grade families have donated 35 bottles of wine, so far. We are looking to have 100 bottles of wine donated for the “wine wall” at this year’s auction. If you are able to donate a bottle (or more!), please drop off at the office marked “Auction” – include your name, address and phone number for donation purposes. We are looking for $15-$25 per bottle value for this project. Thank you for your generosity to reach 100!

4 Year-Old Kindergarten Readiness Program -We are excited to launch a 4-year old Kindergarten Readiness Program for the 2017-2018 school year. Students MUST be 4 by September 1, 2017. Mrs. Przygocki will be teaching this program. Families will have the option of a five full-day or five ½-day (AM) program. All families interested in the program should submit their application to the office as soon as possible. A minimum of 12 students must be registered for this program to be launched. The deadline to register is Friday, March 31. We are confident this will be a great way for our young students to learn that “As followers of Jesus, it must be different with us.”
Music Concert – I was so impressed by our talented Viking musicians at this year’s Christmas Concert. They really got everyone that heard them in the Christmas Spirit. Mr. Pacifico does a fantastic job with the band and his music students. Ms. Calvaneso does an amazing job with the Vocal Vikings as well. We truly have an outstanding music program at St. Hugo of the Hills.
