GREEN SCHOOL! St. Hugo is once again collecting used and or broken Christmas tree lights.  Please send with your child to A4. Thank you for helping us remain a Green School!

LADIES OF CHARITY CHRISTMAS BASKET DRIVE will begin Tuesday, December 1 and run through Tuesday, December 8. The Ladies of Charity will be preparing Christmas baskets for over 200 needy families. St. Hugo students and their families have always been supportive and generous. Once again we are asking you to help by bringing in new, unwrapped books, toys, games, teen items, and sports items.

K- Grade 2:      cars, trucks, blocks, craft kits, dolls, small train sets, etc.

Grades 3-5:      building toys, Legos, Lincoln logs, craft kits, building sets, etc.

Grade 6:           new books and board games

Grades 7-8:      new, unused teen items such as make-up kits, sports items, hand-held games, jewelry, purses, etc.

 

ALL ST. HUGO LADIES are invited to share in our Christmas blessings and friendship at the St. Hugo Altar Guild Christmas Brunch on Tuesday, December 15 from 10:00am until noon in the Parish Hall. A lovely brunch, dessert, and beverage will be served. The guest speaker, Jack Krasula, will be presenting “A Spare Tire vs. The Steering Wheel”. Please bring a new, wrapped Christmas ornament to exchange and bring a friend to join us!

 

THE FINAL SCRIP ORDER OF THIS YEAR is Monday, December 7! Order by 10:00am on December 7 and pick up in the school office on Friday, December 11 in the afternoon. Order online at www.shopwithscrip.com. Your login is your email address and it can email your password. Pay by check made payable to St. Hugo PTG by Wednesday, December 9 (write “SCRIP” in the memo line) or with Prestopay (debit from your bank account). Check out limited time smaller denomination cards. These are great Christmas gifts for dance teachers, swim coaches, and babysitters!

 

CANDY CANE SALE begins Monday, December 7 during lunch. Candy canes are $1 each and proceeds go to the Wounded Warrior Project. Please support this worthy organization!

A NEW ST. HUGO FUNDRAISER!  The Archdiocese of Detroit has created an official Catholic Schools Week t-shirt.  The t-shirt will be sold for $10 with a $2 donation to St. Hugo and $2 to the St. Vincent DePaul Society.  Students who wear this t-shirt on Friday, February 12 (the last day of school before Winter Break) can also wear jeans.  A picture of the t-shirt and a downloadable order form is on the St. Hugo website.  Order forms for the t-shirt must be turned in no later than January 8.  T-shirts will be delivered by Wednesday, January 27.  A great way to support St. Hugo and St. Vincent DePaul!

IMPORTANT REMINDER: It is extremely important for you to show up for your assigned morning parking lot duty. Please make sure you sign-in on the sheet across from the Fr. Esper Room and take a reflective vest (you may end up with an extra parking lot duty assignment if you forget to sign in!). If you have a conflict and cannot fulfill your obligation on your assigned day please trade with another family. The presence of parent volunteers during morning drop-off is essential in keeping all of our children safe, preventing accidents, and keeping traffic flowing. ALL morning drop-offs should be made using the carpool line – parents should not be parking and walking their children across the carpool line. Drop-offs to the Hickory Grove entrance should only be made if your arrival is past 8:15am.
