CONGRATULATIONS TO Bennett Boyle!  Evan was last week’s TRACK winner.  He was observed by Mrs. Kender for being helpful in the classroom.  Keep up the good work, Bennett!

DECEMBER BOOK CLUB  Any students in grades 4-6 who love to read are invited to join Mrs. Braet in the library on Fridays after school until 4:30pm.  December’s book will the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl.  We will be watching Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory as well to compare the book and movie.  Book club will be $60 for a 3 week session (December 1, 8, & 15).  Weekly snacks, materials, and a purchased copy of the book for each student to keep will be included.  If interested, please contact Mrs. Braet, katrina.braet@sthugoschool.org, or send a check made payable to Katrina Braet in the amount of $60.  There will be a limit of 12 students for each month’s book club.

LIBRARY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!  Parent volunteers are needed to help in the library to assist with the circulation desk, shelving books, book repair, and other special tasks throughout the year.  Those who volunteer in the library tend to work either morning or afternoon for 1-3 hours at a time, every other week.  The following time slots are available:  Monday 9:30am-11:00am and 12:15pm-3:15pm, Wednesday 12:15pm-1:15pm and 2:15pm-3:15pm.  If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Braet, katrina.braet@sthugoschool.org.

 PLEASE HELP US help Lighthouse of Oakland County provide a Thanksgiving meal for local families in need.   Suggested list:  Grades Pre-K – 4:  boxed stuffing, pie crust mix*, boxed potatoes, muffin mixes, boxed mac and cheese, cake mixes, frosting*, and jello.  Grades 5-8:  canned yams*, gravy, canned potatoes, canned vegetables, canned fruit, broth, soup, evaporated milk*, pumpkin pie filling, canned cranberries.  NO GLASS.  Monetary donations and grocery store gift cards are also appreciated and will be used to purchase turkeys and items not received through the food drive. (*tend to run low on these items)  Donations will be accepted through Wednesday, November 15 at 10:00am.  Additionally, if you are interested in driving the donated items to All Saints Episcopal Church on November 15, please contact Kelly Ryan, kelly.ryan@sthugoschool.org.  Thank you for your generosity!

 THE HEALTHY FOOD COMMITTEE is looking for volunteers!  If you have knowledge or passion for healthier food alternatives for our school, please join us!  Contact Tressa Joseph, tljoseph.3@gmail.com, or Mishel Abdou, mts0303@aol.com, for more information on how to get involved.

SCRIP PHYSICAL GIFT CARDS are back in time for the holidays!  Order your Scrip cards by 10:00am on Tuesday, November 14 and pick up in the school office Friday, November 17.  Order online at www.shopwithscrip (see attached flyer for more registration information).  If paying by check, make your check payable to St. Hugo PTG and send to the office ATTENTION:  SCRIP no later than Wednesday, November 15.  60% of the rebate price is credited towards your tuition, and 40% goes to St. Hugo.  Last year St. Hugo earned over $1600 from Scrip rebates.  Contact Heather Koziarz, sthugoscrip@gmail.com, for more information or sign up details.  There will be two more physical card oders before Christmas break.  With Prestopay and ScripNow, you can get e-cards in minutes delievered to your email address and your Scrip wallet.

NOTRE DAME THEATRE PRESENTS Rodger’s and Hammerstein’s Cinderella!  November 16-18 at 7:00pm and November 19 at 4:00pm, Avondale High School Auditorium.  Tickets are available at showtix4u.com or at the door.  Several St. Hugo graduates are in this show – Bea Fandino, Rowland Scheessele, Evan Wells, Angeli Fandino, Tommy Frost, and Christopher VanDieren!

 HUGO AUCTION WINE WALL is accepting donations! Please drop off you wine donation in the front office marked “Auction” – include your name, address and phone number for donation purposes. We are looking for $15-$25 per bottle value for this project.  Contact Carolyn Still-Love, crstill@comcast.net, or Kelly Thalmann, kthalmann2@gmail.com, if you have larger quantities that you would like to meet at pick up for.  Thank you for your participation and generosity!  Our goal is 150 bottles.
